AI in HR – From Potential to Impact

Sandeep’s keynote session focused on the one question that is on everyone’s minds – taking AI beyond all the hype and creating real impact for HR teams. The session recaped the evolution of AI so far, and how the era of agents can truly transform the way HR Tech is used today.

There’s real interest in various applications of AI but most of the current iterations are barely scratching the surface when it comes to leveraging AI’s potential. The session focused on practical applications and how AI can create tangible impact.

What’s PeopleStrong MAAX?

PeopleStrong MAAX is the evolution of AI which moves beyond the concept of AI co-pilots to a more mature model. Beyond the already existing capabilities of Generative AI and its various iterations, AI agents can do more, and even execute tasks autonomously.

AI agents can help you in:

  • Sending contextual nudges: Manual follow ups take quite a lot of time and energy from the HR Team today. Reminding people to fill up necessary forms or to complete a course should not be a manual process. AI agents understands the contexts and nudges employees towards action autonomously.

  • Answer complex queries: AI agents can parse information to answer queries. A lot of employee queries, especially on aspects such as organization policies and how they apply to everyone, are handled manually today. AI agents can refer to policy documents as well as employee specific details and respond to queries.

  • Perform tasks – perhaps the most exciting of all aspects that an AI agent brings to the table is its ability to perform tasks autonomously. Want to compile a report or onboard an employee? The AI agent can get it done for you.

How does PeopleStrong MAAX work?

Like the name indicates, MAAX is really a collection of agents, each with specific use cases. Jinie, the PeopleStrong’s current AI Agent will be a super-agent that can trigger a selected agent to perform a task. Jinie will leverage the MAAX system to perform activities autonomously.

AI agents: Deep dive

Let’s take a closer look at some of the AI Agents and understand how it works

Analytics Agent

Using people data is often a cumbersome process in most cases. You have to go through various reports, filter the data according to your needs, and find out what’s needed. This can take time and quite a lot of effort if the reports aren’t configured correctly.

The Analytics agent is designed to make this process a breeze. It can understand and respond to queries asked in natural language, and can compile cross-module reports with ease.

Onboarding Agent

The onboarding agent is your go-to if you want to onboard new employees. Currently, you maybe sending a link across for the new employee to upload their documents and fill in relevant information. The onboarding agent can make this a conversational process and answer questions from the candidate when needed. The Onboarding agent can also go a step further, and assign courses and set up onboarding meetings with the new employee’s manager and team depending on their availability as well.

The HR executive can simply ask Jinie to start onboarding the candidate, and the agent does the rest for you, and will confirm once the process is completed.

Employee relations agent

A lot of the HR professional’s time today is going into answering employee queries on various aspects such as tax, policies, and more. Beyond just sharing policies, FAQs are also created to answer common queries, and despite all this, there are always more queries.

The ER agent can understand and respond to queries in natural language. The ER agent can parse the policies and other information given, and it can also take the employee’s unique context into consideration and tailor the responses accordingly.
