PeopleStrong participated in Employability '08 - An initiative towards Equal opportunity employment
Sunday, 24th Feb 08
Hall 15, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi
PeopleStrong supported Ability Foundation and its noble cause by participating in the Employability ’08 (a Job fair that offered equitable employment opportunities to qualified persons with disability) as an initiative towards equal opportunity employment.
Believing in a dream, for a world, where being disabled does not automatically equate with being disadvantaged. And where words like “empathy” and “empowerment” forever replace “pity” and “neglect”. PeopleStrong supported this initiative as this acted as an enabler for qualified candidates with disabilities and provided them with a great opportunity to connect with unbiased equal opportunity employers and a platform to display their job skills and a demand to be hired on grounds of merit.

It was just on Saturday morning (23rd Feb) that a couple met me at RK Puram school saying that they were rather worried about their daughter who was hearing impaired. I brushed aside their worries and said that the day when their daughter would support them, was not far away. And hey presto! My prayers and theirs was answered... the very next day, deserving girl had found her first job and her rightful place at People Strong!!! What an emotional moment that was - that early evening of the 24th! Memories of a lifetime, truly!

Union Minister for Finance Shri P Chidambaram graced the occasion with his presence and appreciated the efforts of organizing an event with a social cause that brings people from all walks of life together.
